With the Cataclysm expansion over we have now begun looking to find the last few players we need for our raiding roster.

Our current requirements can be seen on the class selections on the left of this page, or in detail on our forums but we are currently most in need of a new hunter and a healing priest. It goes without saying that if you feel you are an exceptional player and your class is not currently listed as sought after by us, we will still consider the application.

We would also like to open our recruitment up for monks as the new class of the forthcoming expansion, so even if you have plans of not continuing to play your current character and feel you would like to be part of our guild we'd love to hear from you.

If you do wish to apply as a monk for Mists of Pandaria please make an application as normal via our forums listing your current experience and goals. It goes without saying that Beta experience would be a real help to any applications.

Good luck and we look forward to hearing from you!

FUCKING FINISHED.

Well, hands up who thought after T11 Balance would be finishing Cataclysm as we have finished every iteration of WoW, server first!

It's been over a year since the expansion started and well, it has been probably the hardest in Balance's history due to huge changes with our roster coming into the expansion and then the subsequent rebuild that followed. But as we can see, with both Firelands and now Dragon Soul Realm Firsts achieved the hard work has paid off and I cant thank those who have been here for the hard work and effort put in enough, what we have gone through is enough to kill most guilds, instead we finish the expansion as server first and in a position to truly push on and achieve the ranks we grew accustomed to during Vanilla, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. That list of people is really too long to go into here, as not only does it include the raiders currently, but those who were key factors in T11 and T12 and of course as mentioned in the Spine post, the former raiders from previous expansions who still help to keep this guild the success it is.

Onto Madness itself then!! There has been a lot of discussion about the fights anti-climatic nature and how 'easy' it is in comparison to spine, well, that down plays it really and quite a lot of these comments are often myths perpetuated by those with little experience to base them on. I wont go into lore etc as that's not really me, but as a fight while yes it is easier than spine (though easier is a relative term I feel its just more forgiving to a natural raid composition) it is by no means an easy fight and I'm sure some guilds will spend many frustrating wipes on this, as a point of comparison it felt like Kil'Jaeden after Muru, not a bad or easy fight when looked at on its own, just suffers from its position in the instance/expansion.

I still have to say that the raid we took (and those sat on the sidelines sadly, it has to happen to some as is always the way in a raiding guild) really pushed themselves and we got control of the fight quickly and had some low % wipes early, I was impressed with how consistent we became early on with a lot of our wipes being due to an unfortunate bug in the encounter seeing players die in an unressable position when jumping between platforms, that annoyance aside, we made really fast progress catching up and obviously passing the other guild on the server who has been working on this for a longer period of time. Especially given the format of this expansion of forcing 25 mans to compete with the (aside from t11) often agreed easier discipline of 10 man raiding.

Overall I can't be happier with the guilds end to Cataclysm and anyone who had written us off after T11, well sorry, but we are still around and still the best, a trend we intend to continue long into Mists of Pandaria.

SEE YOU ALL THERE!!

Well, this was a long time coming, after making good progress pre nerf, and being in the position of working out final transitions and fine tuning sadly the nerf hit and took away the requirements that we had spent practising, but it was what it was and the boss was taken down. In my opinion this was probably the worst designed fight Blizzard have ever come up with, in this guild we've been there for dps checks when they were dps checks pre nerf-pre fix etc, everything from Patchwerk through Brutallus and Muru and others, this however wasn't a dps check, it was can you bring enough of a certain class/spec, and thats not the way raids should be designed.

Never the less everyone who was asked to play an alt, or step out and especially the friend ranks who took the time out to step back up to the raiding roster and help us, we wouldn't have been in the position we are in without you and I've probably thanked each of you individually, but this is the public thanks.

We're now left with Madness up and we'll be done with Cataclysm and start our preparations for Mists of Pandaria, hopefully that news post will follow this one shortly!

Well I guess a few things about this post were late, the kill itself was slower than we should have been due to one or two issues we had after our Ultraxion kill, and also this post should have been put up way back on Monday the 16th, but I've been tied up so here it is, delayed but up!

Once we put some time into Warmaster there wasnt much to say, its a survival fight that once you make it out of the first phase with enough dps to stay on top of adds is a fairly straightforward encounter, a more fun gunship than the ICC one, but never the less not exactly befitting of the 6th boss in the last instance of the expansion in my opinion.

Given this post is late I can speak a bit about what has happened since, we are currently progressing on spine and going along nicely, just looking for some additions to our roster both for spine/madness and also into Mists of Pandaria so even if your class isn't highlighted on the side of the page, we always consider exceptional applications.
